Two floors can look like parquet while having very different materials, installation requirements and maintenance needs. The same is true of wood-look wall panels. Start with what the room needs: a different appearance, easier cleaning, coordinated finishes or replacement of a worn surface. Then compare named products and physical samples, rather than broad descriptions such as “wood alternative” or “premium parquet.”
Ask for the product name, model and intended use. Tarkett describes laminate as a layered material with a wood-fibre core and a printed decorative layer. LVT vinyl flooring can also reproduce a wood appearance, but has a different composition. Terms such as SPC and WPC should lead to a specific product datasheet, not an assumption that every product carrying that label performs identically.

Floors face foot traffic, furniture and repeated cleaning. Wall cladding needs appropriate fixings, edge details and coordination around openings. A wall sample does not establish suitability for a floor. Review panel direction, joints, corners and door junctions. Show socket locations and decide how any concealed services will remain accessible, especially where several finishes meet.
The condition of the substrate can change the work required more than a colour choice. Tarkett’s installation guidance calls for checks on flatness, cleanliness, dryness and stability. Ask who will assess the site and whether existing layers need removal or levelling. Moisture limits, primers and preparation methods must follow the selected product’s instructions; specifications for one system should not be copied to another.

Tarkett explains that water-resistant vinyl pieces do not automatically make all joints and the installation beneath them waterproof. Check the proposed product’s suitability for the room, including its edge, joint and cleaning requirements. Do not extend a dry-room recommendation to a bathroom without checking the complete system. The installer should review actual exposure and site conditions before the material is approved.

Place a flooring sample beside the proposed wall colour and cladding. View them in the room’s lighting and compare texture, repeated patterns and transitions at the entrance. Give one finish visual priority instead of combining several competing patterns. For ceiling coordination, review our gypsum-board options (Arabic) and suspended-ceiling guide (Arabic). Each system still requires its own technical selection.

Request the correct cleaning instructions and advice on spills and furniture movement. For the laminate products it describes, Tarkett advises against standing water and harsh cleaners, and recommends protecting furniture contact points. Also discuss how a damaged board can be replaced and whether matching spare pieces are available. Record the supplier’s actual warranty terms rather than relying on a general promise about lifespan.

Include the project city, whether Tabuk, Al Wajh, Duba, Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah or elsewhere in Saudi Arabia. Site requirements and execution feasibility are reviewed before confirmation. Compare quotations using the same materials, quantities and preparation scope, rather than the area rate alone.
